NAFSA’s Global Learning in Foreign Language Instruction: More Than Just Talk
Thursday, November 9, 2017
Foreign language proficiency and cross-cultural understanding should, ideally, go hand in hand. However, foreign language programs do not always successfully incorporate global learning practices into the curriculum and miss the opportunity to help students develop global perspectives. This session will incorporate data and recommendations for foreign language programs and provide various examples for how this can be done in different contexts.
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
International Center (Dahlberg Hall, Room 350)
30 Courtland Street SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30303
In this webinar, participants will learn how to augment their students' language learning with concrete intercultural skills. Presenters will discuss their research and practice and will highlight the oft-overlooked reasons for purposefully incorporating global learning into foreign language programs and provide various examples for how this can be done in different contexts.
Please note: You must be in attendance to view the webinar. Live-streaming links or conferencing options are unavailable. All faculty and staff are invited to attend. Space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot. Brown bag lunch welcome.
