Doctorate in Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin
Dr. Wolfgang Schlör joined Georgia State University as the Associate Provost for International Initiatives in March 2017.
Dr. Schlör came to Georgia State from Western Michigan University where he served as Associate Provost for the Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education since 2013. Prior to his appointment at Western Michigan, he was employed in various positions with an international focus at the University of Illinois from 2007 through 2013 and the University of Pittsburgh from 1992 through 2007.
In these positions, Dr. Schlör has gained a wide range of experience developing and growing programs aimed at increasing global engagement and providing international education opportunities for students.
Dr. Schlör holds doctorate and master’s degrees in political science from Freie Universität Berlin, and has held research positions on international security policy and arms control at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, England.
Dr. Schlör also serves as the Executive Director of the Georgia State University Confucius Institute.
