Welcoming Dr. Wolfgang Schlör, Associate Provost for International Initiatives

Dr. Wolfgang Schlör joined Georgia State University as the Associate Provost for International Initiatives effective March 15, 2017.

Dr. Schlör has been the Associate Provost in the Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education at Western Michigan University since late 2013.  Prior to his appointment at Western Michigan, he was employed in various positions with an international focus at the University of Illinois from 2007 through 2013 and the University of Pittsburgh from 1994 through 2007.  In these positions, Dr. Schlör has gained a wide range of experience developing and growing programs aimed at increasing global engagement through international study opportunities for students.

He completed his doctorate in political science at Freie Universität Berlin, and has studied abroad in a variety of locations, including Russia and England. His research interests include international security policy and arms control.
