International Travel

Georgia State University has revised its policies and procedures regarding international travel. In November 2013, it launched Georgia State University Travel; the new travel booking site. On March 7, 2018, Georgia State’s Admin. Council approved a new policy regarding the travel of employees to countries on the U.S. State Department’s Travel Advisories List – “Georgia State Travel Advisory Policy.” This policy incorporates guidance for travel by faculty and staff.

Registration for international emergency notification through the Office of International Initiatives (OII) is not required if  booking travel through travel.gsu.edu. This is because International emergency notification fields have been incorporated into the system. It is advised that travelers complete and update their travel profile in the system regularly. Additional approval is required for international travel to countries where the U.S. State Department has issued a Level 3 or Level 4 travel advisory.  Please review the options below and follow the appropriate link.
