International Initiatives announces endowment through The Sheth Family Foundation

The Office of International Initiatives at Georgia State University announces a gift from Dr. Jagdish and Madhu Sheth, through The Sheth Family Foundation, to recognize international alumni and distinguished faculty.

“Giving back while you are alive is more fulfilling and enjoyable,” said Dr. Jagdish Sheth, the Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing at Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

The Sheth Family Foundation gift will establish an endowment in support of two annual awards: the Sheth Distinguished Faculty Award for International Achievement and the Sheth International Alumni Award for Exceptional Achievement. The awards will be presented at a recognition ceremony celebrating Georgia State’s global engagement and the impact of its international alumni.

The initial endowment for each award will be $50,000. An additional $20,000 will directly support the awards and programming over the next few years.  The gift contributes to the university’s $300-million fundraising campaign, scheduled to end in 2018. So far, over $303 million has been raised.

“We are deeply grateful for Dr. Jagdish and Madhu Sheth’s generous gift, and their vision that will help us raise the visibility of Georgia State’s many international accomplishments” said Dr. Wolfgang Schlör, associate provost for International Initiatives.
